‘Ergobando’ means rainbow in Ladin. The name was given to a project born from the collaboration between Cromia and the Costa Family Foundation Onlus. Ergobando is a rainbow based on sharing ideas, values, feelings, emotions – coming to life in a swirl of colours to create a new type of beauty.
We like to think that beautiful things can be born from diversity, from the union of different colours, from the convergence of many ideas. This is what happens through the Costa Family Foundation Projects and this is the same feeling of Cromia, that decided to support the Moroto Project for the Women Empowrement in Huganda: a group of stories from different lives that share a sense of hope and an innate joy when thinking of the future together.
Ergobando perfectly sums up the spirit of this projects and conveys a positive feeling through an explosion of colors, a medium-handbag realized with plain calfskin and printed plain calfskin with patterns that recall the typical colors of African dresses
All handbags are characterised and enriched by the pairing of faixas made of cloth, textiles made by these villages women who are aided, among many other partners, by the Ergobando project. The foulard is not an integral part of the handbag itself for a reason: so that it can be used as an independent fashion
accessory. The three foulards – which are always different for every handbag to highlight the uniqueness of each story – can be mixed, intertwined, knotted into a shoulder bag, but can also be used as a bracelet, a hairband or, of course, as a foulard. The sky is the limit, and the textiles become a symbol embodying certain values: the joy of sharing experiences and stories with other people, happiness, hope, and life.
